Day 14: Interview With A Family Member

Family is the most important thing in the world to me. I'm very lucky to have so many people who support, inspire and motivate me each and every day. But choosing to interview my beautiful nan was an easy choice to make. My nan has shaped the person I am today so it was only right that I chose her. Plus she is bursting with stories! Also, she's like the cutest person ever!

Thanks for letting me interview you. Are you excited to be in one of my blog posts?
Yes I'm excited. I like to help you if I can.

What is your proudest moment?
Giving birth to my three children and being present when my granddaughters were born.

What is the most romantic thing my Grandad has ever done for you?
That's a hard one, he's not romantic. When I had cancer, he was by my side from start to finish, through every treatment, and he learnt to cook and clean. That is romantic to me.

What do you think is the key to a lasting and loving relationship like yours?
To talk to each other without secrets. To laugh and joke. To always be there and help one another through the hard times as well as good times.

You have traveled a lot, what has been your favourite place(s)?
Of all the lovely places we have been abroad, for me it was Wales with the children when they were small. The tombs in Egypt are also amazing.

What do you think is the key to happiness?
A happy and loving family. What more could you ask for?

As you know, I struggle with anxiety and depression. You always give me the best advice, support and comfort even when I think I don't want it. A lot of my readers struggle with the same mental health issues, if you could give them some loving advice, what would it be?
To talk to someone, even if it's a stranger. Talking out your problems or worries really does take the pressure off and it will sometimes make you realise that you're not alone in your thoughts. Or even write it down, it takes the stress away.

You have beautiful skin. What is your favourite skincare product, and what is your daily skincare routine?
I use a No 7 wash on my face, then wash it off with cold water and pat dry. I use a body shop scrub on my entire body every few days. And every day I use Soap and Glory's shower gel and moisturizer.

I LOVE your cooking. Especially your roast dinners and your chips. What is your favourite thing to cook?
I've just asked your Gramps and the cheeky bugger said salad. I like to do stir fry's and scouse. For the little ones I cut potatoes with different biscuit cutters so they have funny shaped chips. They love that.

Hahaha! Yum, I could eat one of your stir fry's right now! Thank you again for doing this, I love you! One final question - if you could teach your grandchildren one thing, what would it be?
Never fall out with your family. They're the best friends you will ever have.

I loved interviewing my nan today. She really enjoyed it, I might just do another one in the future.

All my love

xo
