Day 18: If I won the lottery...

I day dream about winning the euro millions every day. I've never been happy about my life. Don't get me wrong, I have a loving and supportive family, I have an amazing friends and I live with one of my best friends.

I wasn't popular in school but I never had any problems with bullying. But I was still never happy. Every day I tried to pretend I was sick but I was never very good at that. I left school after my first year in sixth form so that I could work full time. I thought that would bring me happiness, it didn't. Although I met two of my best friends there, it also caused more misery than I could ever put into words.

This year I was unemployed for 8 months. I hated not having any money, but for the first time in a long time - I wasn't unhappy. I started this blog which has been the best thing to ever happen to me, and I had the opportunity to spend quality time with my loved ones.

And then I got a job. I instantly swapped back to my unhappy state. I'm a hard worker, and I have bills to pay, but I can't be happy if my heart isn't in it.

"Money has never made man happy,
nor will it, there is nothing in it's
nature to produce happiness. The
more of it one has the more one wants"
- Benjamin Franklin

I don't fully agree with that statement. I agree that money isn't the most important thing in life. Money can make some people miserable. But in my case, money would buy my happiness.

If I won the lottery...

  • I would no longer have to work as a cleaner.
  • My family would no longer be in debt. They could finally do things that make them happy.
  • I'd give my auntie and uncle anything they want. They deserve more happiness and luck than I could ever give them for doing everything for everyone.
  • My mum is an incredible florist. But she has spent the past 10 years of her life working in a supermarket. I have always said that if I had the money, I would help her start her own floristry business.
  • I would become a full time blogger.
  • I would travel.
  • I would publish my best friends unbelievable novel that she has been dedicated to writing for the past few years.
  • Ever since I was a child, I have been dreaming of opening my own clothing store called 'Seasons'. Each season in the four corners of the store. Newest trends, vintage, one-off pieces, pieces by local designers. A place for everyone, all year round.
  • Whether it be through my blog or the store, I want to create a safe workplace for people that struggle with mental health. I know how difficult it is to work in a place that are completely uneducated on mental health. I want to create a place that caters to their needs. Make other people happy whilst they're earning money, but still compassionate of the fact that our minds are unpredictable.
If I won the lottery I would be happy.

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer.
Always remember, you have within you the
strength, the patience, and the passion to
reach for the stars to change the world"
- Harriet Tubman

What would you do if you won the lottery?

All my love
