Day 19: Why do I blog?

"The best way to not feel hopeless is to
get up and do something. Don't wait for
good things to happen to you. If you go
out and make some good things happen,
you will fill the world with hope, you
will fill yourself with hope"
- Barack Obama

5 months ago, after having a break from blogging, all I wanted to do was write personal stories. I wanted to let go of things that have happened to me, but I wasn't confident enough to sign my name at the bottom. That's when I decided to become anonymous. After making that decision, everything just fell into place. I contacted other people to join the team and write with me. Then I became obsessed with the idea of creating a safe place for everyone.

Safe Haven; Anonymous Letters was born.

I have received incredible feedback since day one. I speak for all of my team when I say that nothing makes us happier than knowing something we have written has helped somebody else. Creating a blog that not only helps me, but helps other people is all I could ever wish for. Charles Dickens once said "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another". Earlier this year I was feeling useless and hopeless, I felt like I had no place in the world. But this blog, this safe haven - this is my place. Even if it's just one person who reads a post and no longer feels alone, I know that I have helped someone.

That is why I blog, and that is why I will continue to blog.

All my love
