The Sunshine Blogger Award

Happy Monday my beautiful readers! Yesterday I was nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award by the lovely and talented woman behind Surviving Millenial. I love doing posts like this. It gives readers a chance to get to know more about the person behind the blog and it gives bloggers a chance to interact more. So here goes:

So, the rules are as follows;

       1. Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and link back to their blog.
       2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
       3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive this award, and write them 11 new questions.
       4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Questions for me

1. Why did you start blogging?
    When I first started blogging 6/7 years ago, it was because my cousins had a blog and I thought it'd
    be fun. But I started this blog April 2017 because I genuinely love writing. I wanted to give people
    a chance to express themselves without fear. I wanted to help people through their darkest times,
    make them smile each day and inspire them to be unapologetically themselves.

2. Where is your blogging "zone"?
    My couch is my blogging zone at the moment. But I have plans to get a desk so I can throw myself
    into my work without my dog laying across me as I'm trying to type.

3. How do your organise your posts?
    I assume you mean my layout and order of my posts? I don't really have one organised order that
    I stick to. I just do what feels right and I play around with new ideas. But I do always have my
    posts split into paragraphs. And I always try to throw in a few pictures and quotes.

4. What skill(s) would you like to learn?
    I'd like to get better at photography, business and marketing. But in terms of new skills, I'd like to
    learn how to play the guitar or the piano.

5. Favourite beverage?
    Well I'm a tea-oholic but I do love hot chocolate and baileys. I'm quite partial to cocktails too!

6. Favourite music?
    You know when people say they listen to 'all sorts' but they actually don't? Well I really do listen to
    all music apart from country music. I have playlists and songs for every mood and situation. I love
    pop, R&B, rap, classical, dance music.

7. If you could collaborate with anyone, brand/blogger/etc, who would it be?
    I haven't really looked into specific brands/companies I want to collaborate with. But I'd love to
    work with ones who are advocates and/or support mental health or feminism. As far as bloggers
    are concerned, there's so many incredible ones I would love to work with. To name a few;
    Soinspo, Love Laughs Lipstick and Vix Meldrew.

8. If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
    I have a pretty long travel bucket list, but the places I want to try and visit in the next 5 years are;
    Santorini, Dublin, New Orleans, New York and New Zealand.

9. Favourite book?
    I don't actually have a favourite book. To be honest I'm more of a tv/movie girl.

10. Board games, Computer games, or both? (and why?)
      Both definitely. I play Hex fvr and Solitaire Live every day on Facebook messenger. They
      become pretty addictive. But I love family game nights! You can't beat a bit of Monopoly and

11. Blogging advice to new bloggers?
      You know that little voice inside your head that asks questions like "Should you really post that?",
      "Are your readers going to care about that?" - don't listen to it. You write what you want to write
      regardless of what anybody else thinks. If you want to write about last nights episode of
      Emmerdale - do it. If you want to write something controversial - do it. If you want to write
      something personal - do it. And if you want to swear - fucking do it.
      Your blog is your safe place to write about anything you want. Don't be afraid to be you. Great
      bloggers put their personality into every post, it's not all about perfect technique.
      Don't feel obligated to post regularly. Especially if you've got writers block. It's okay to take a
      break. We all take them. If you don't step back then you'll lose your passion. If you don't want to
      take a break but have writers block then check out my post '10 Simple ways to get rid of writers
      block'. It's okay to ask bloggers for help. We don't bite. The blogging community is pretty damn
      amazing. Be yourself and you'll be unstoppable.
