Getting Date Ready

Whether it's your first date or your fifth, it's still stressful and if you're like me, you're more anxious than ever. You're worrying about whether you'll connect with your date, if you'll fall into awkward silences, and on top of that you feel like you have to wear the perfect outfit. So I want to take some of that weight off your shoulders - I've put together a few items that will hopefully inspire an effortlessly, stunning look for your date, 3 tips to build your self confidence and a playlist that will get you excited for your date.

"Style is a way to say who
you are without having to speak."

"It is not what you are that
holds you back, it is what
you think you are not."

The most important thing you should wear to your date is self-confidence. Confidence is sexy as fuck! And you don't have to pay for it or wait weeks to have it delivered (Not so subtly aimed at Hermes). Being confident is easier said than done though right? Well you know I've got your back, so here's 3 ways to build your self confidence. (But this is only half of the job, you need to meet me half way)

Swap out negativity
for positivity

Who and what we surround ourselves with greatly influences
who we are, what we do and how we act. So you need to
get rid of all negative influences in your life, no matter how
harsh it may seem. Surround yourself with positive influences
and your incentive to go after who and what you want in
life will be unstoppable.

Look like you

I know this seems so obvious but our appearance is another
thing that is heavily influenced by the environment and the
people we surround ourselves with. But you don't have to
blend in. If you want to dye your hair every colour of the
rainbow - do it! Have a quirky, unique style? Rock that shit!

There is only one of you. Your body and your appearance is
your choice. Your confidence comes from within. So look like you.

Fake it 'till
you make it

You don't become completely self confident over night.
So fake it 'till you make it. How do I fake confidence you ask?
Here's 4 tips to pull off an Oscar-worthy performance.

~Strut like you own the street you're walking down~
A bad-ass strut screams confidence!
And it slowly builds your actual confidence up
as well so that's a bonus. So keep on strutting, even
when you're annoyed by the fact that your sock is sliding off.

 ~It's all in the eyes~
Keep your head held high and try not to look down
at the floor. There's nothing exciting going on down
there, the pavement is grey - I'll let you know if it changes.
I know eye contact can be seriously awkward but
try and power-through because you'll be giving off
a lot of confident vibes!

~say cheese!~
You know that really quick smile you have to
plaster on your face when someone surprises
you with picture time? Well use that smile even when
there's no cameras. Happiness and confidence appear
one in the same. Although your date could be making
you smile uncontrollably anyway - bonus!

~speak clearly~
Stop the mumbling and the super fast talking.
Slow it down and speak clearly. This is one
of the main attributes of a confident person.
But don't talk to slow, you don't want your
date to get bored.

"Music knows more about the
kind of mood I'm in than I do."

Whilst I'm getting ready for my date, I listened to a playlist I put together that makes me feel like a badass woman and opens me up to the feeling of being in love. It helps so much with turning my anxiety into excitement. So it'd be rude of me not to share.

You can listen to the full playlist here.

Do you feel date-ready?

It's normal to be nervous, just take the leap and go for it!

The lovely Kate from LazyBeautyJunkie said something to me last week before my date that made me feel so much better about going; "The worst scenario is that they are not right for you but you had the confidence to do it. Best scenario you meet someone great."

All my love

Han xx
