My Life According to Me

"Every morning you have two choices:
Continue to sleep with dreams or
wake up and chase your dreams.
The choice is yours..."

As you all know, if you're a regular reader, I am currently the happiest I have ever been. I've accepted myself, I love myself and I'm so excited for whats to come in my life. There's so many changes that I want to make in my life; things I want to do, things I want to get. It's time for me to start shaping my own future. So that's exactly what I have been doing this past week, which is also why I've been pretty MIA across my social media. I'm not one of those people who can make a list of things in their head then do them. I need to have it in front of me in pictures and lists. Today I'll be sharing with you my vision for the next few years of my life, which will include everything from style to work space and who I want to be to my dream bedroom decor. This is going to be a long-ass post, so I hope you're still with me by the end. In fact, go make yourself a brew, I'll wait.

You good? Ok, lets start...

"Style can change your look, certainly,
but it can also change your life."
- Stacy London

I'm a natural ginger, which I have always loved. So this hairstyle wouldn't be a drastic change but it's still always terrified me. I've wanted to do this for years but I've always thought "It might not suit me so I'll leave it. Better safe than sorry". Hell no! You'll see me say this a lot throughout this post - staying safe is not what I want to do. If the hair style doesn't suit me then it's cool, it's not like I'll be stuck with it forever and I definitely won't be sorry. An oops is better than a what if.

~ forget the rules,
if you like it wear it ~

This is my style. It's been my style for a long time. Except I don't walk down the street as me. I've never expressed myself because I thought being different and standing out was bad. Until I realised - f*ck caring what other people may or may not think. I'm no longer going to dress to fit in or to impress anyone else. My life is about me being true to myself, so I'm saying goodbye to my old safe wardrobe and saying hello to the real me. Below is my wish list... actually no, wishing implies that I'll never get them. Below is a list of, what will become, my new wardrobe. I'm going to buy one or two items from it each month. And I'll be updating this post each time that I make a purchase.

Style wish list

~ Black sheer metallic bodysuit ~

~ Emerald green ruffle knit bardot top ~

~ Double buckle western belt ~ *Bought*

~ Ripped jeans ~

~ off shoulder knitted black dress ~

~ Extreme crop roll neck jumper ~

~ Emerald green off shoulder knit jumper ~

Tattoos and Piercings

I love tattoos. I already have seven. I think they're beautiful and I feel beautiful and confident with them on my body. So I'm definitely not stopping at seven. I'm fully intending on getting these four tattoos this year and next year. And as for the piercings - I can't wait. I've been wanting to get it done for a long time but for some reason I kept talking myself out of it. Well no more. I love it - I do it. That's my new mindset.

"Never let fear stop you from
living your life.
Fear kills more dreams than
failure ever will."

To get

~ Polaroid Camera ~

I have wanted a Polaroid for years. But this year it is vital that I buy one for myself. I'm planning this incredible future for myself so I need something to capture the beautiful moments.

~ Bedroom ~

That picture right there is everything that I want my bedroom to be. Beautiful lights, plants, prints. I just want a calming sanctuary. I've never had that before. But no one else is going to do it for me, I need to do it.

~ Work space ~

A desk isn't a priority but it's definitely on the list of things to get in the next few years. I'm currently blogging from my couch with my dog laying across me. I'm looking forward to sitting at an actual desk. I feel like I'd be a hell of a lot more focused. Especially with inspiring prints above it.

To Do

~ Night on the beach ~

I have this incredible picture in my head of my friends and I sitting on the beach with blankets and cushions. Food and drinks. A fire to keep us warm. And we're watching the sunset. It's a picture that is going to come to life.

~ Camping with friends ~

Similar to the last one, I want to go camping with friends. That picture is exactly what I have pictured in my head - sitting around a fire, toasting marshmallow's and sleeping under the stars.

~ Learn to play guitar ~

I don't want to become Ed Sheeran or anything, but I definitely want to learn how to play a bit. Shoutout to my best friend who said she is going to teach me - Love you babes.

~ Sky dive ~

I genuinely can't wait to do this! I'm aiming to do it this summer. It's something that I've been saying I will do for years. I don't want to put it off any longer.

~ Chase a tornado ~

This has been a dream of mine since I was about 6 years old. A dream that I will most definitely be turning into a reality. I will be saving up for the next few years and it will be so worth it!

To See

Northern Lights ~

~ New Orleans - French Quarter ~

~ Santorini, Greece ~

~ Dublin, Ireland ~

"Train your mind to see the good in
everything. Positivity is a choice.
The happiness of your life depends on
the quality of your thoughts."

Less complaining. More appreciating.

"If you have good thoughts, they will
shine out of your face like sun beams
and you will always look lovely."
- Roal Dahl

I will welcome every day with an open mind.

"Never ignore a person who loves
and cares for you, cause one day
you may realise that you've lost
the moon while counting the stars."

I will make more time for my family and friends.

"Give the gift of absence to those
who do not appreciate your presence."

I will not waste anymore time on toxic people.

"Maturity is learning to walk away
from people and situations that
threaten your peace of mind,
self respect, values, morals
and self worth."

I will stop saying yes to shit I don't want to do.

"Make yourself a priority.
At the end of the day,
you're your longest

I won't apologise for making me my priority.

"It's not selfish to love yourself,
take of yourself and to make
your happiness a priority.
It's necessary."
- Mandy Hale

I drink, I have sex with people who I'm not in relationships with, I swear, I have tattoos, I'm bisexual - and I'm not going to let a single person make me feel ashamed for any of that.

"A mind is like a parachute.
It doesn't work unless it's open."

I will never be scared to be me ever again.

"The woman you're becoming will
cost you people, relationships, spaces,
and material things. Choose her
over everything."

I own who I am.

"The relationship with yourself sets
the tone for every other
relationship you have."
- Jane Travis

I will do things for me, not because somebody else wants me to.

"I closed off all easy roads leading
to me. But I'm reachable if you're
willing to go the extra mile."

I will never be second choice again.

"Sometimes you have to walk
away from what you want to
find what you deserve."

I will try to put my commitment-phobia to one side and open myself up to dating.

"Courage doesn't mean you don't
get afraid. Courage means you
don't let fear stop you."

I will say yes to new opportunities and adventures. I won't let fear shut me down.

"It's ok if people don't like you.
Most people don't even like themselves."
- Jack Nicholson

I won't believe somebody telling me I can't. Because actually, I can.

"In any given moment we have
two options: To step forward into growth
or to step back into safety."
- Abraham Maslow

It's not what I have. It's what I give.

"Some entrepreneurs think how can I
make a lot of money? But the better
way is to think how can I make
people's lives a lot better?
If you get it right, the money will come."
- Richard Branson

I refuse to be the girl who didn't pursue her dreams because she didn't have money.

"If it is important to you, you will
find a way. If not, you will find
an excuse."

I will commit to the goals I set and never look back.

"Believe in what you want so much
that it has no choice but to materialise."

If you made it to the end - thank you.

Live your life according to you. Because you don't get a do-over.

All my love

  1. Wow, what a post. Best of luck, you r on the right path 🙂

  2. This is such an empowering and inspiring read, it really made me realise that despite chasing my dreams and goals there are so many things I've not done or have put off and talked myself out of. And your post is such a positive reminder that we have one life and it's ours for the taking! It was so uplifting reading your goals and plans, really struck a chord with me <3

So proud of you lovely, your future is dazzling bright like all the diamonds out there and your exciting plans are incredible. I love tattoos and the four tattoos shown are absolutely gorgeous :) You hit the nail on the head when you said f*ck caring about what other people may or may not think - if they don't like it then it's tough. I think that's one lesson I've learnt during the last few years, I won't apologise for who I am and who I want to be and there's no space for people who don't accept and appreciate us for being our truest selves. I love all your ideas and plans and goals, you've got this!

  3. I love how positive this is! Especially about your own style. My wardrobe doesn't change that much because I'm pretty structured with what I like and don't like but I love the feeling of knowing my style and walking in a shop, seeing something and knowing it's perfect for me. Who cares if it's 'on trend' or not? x

    1. Thank you lovely! I never liked standing out so I just bought clothes to blend in. But then I realised what's the point if I'm not being my true self?

  4. This is such an amazingly positive post and I love it. I’ve always wanted to spend a night at a beach as well, it’s on my bucket list! I’ve wanted to get a tattoo as well for a while now but haven’t got around to it but I’m determined to get it booked soon!

  5. Very awesome. Looks like you're on your way to living the way you want to. Learning to say no and not feeling bad about doing you is so important. Never be scared to be yourself, something everyone should aspire to do. Good read, thanks!
