WOMEN'S WEDNESDAY | be a bad-ass female. always.

It's Wednesday!! My favourite day of the week. Why? Because Women's Wednesday posts are my absolute favourite to write. I will never get bored of talking about strong, fierce, independent women! And I'm not going to stop until you realise that you're a bad-ass female who can kick life's butt! Wait...you didn't think you had to be called Wonder Woman and have super powers to be a bad-ass female did you? Every female can, and should, be a bad-ass woman. The 'How?' all boils down to one secret - being yourself. If you're being your true self every-single-day, then you'll always be living your best life. But unfortunately we don't have a switch to suddenly be our true selves over night, so I'm going to give you a helping hand. Would I be me if I didn't start off with quotes from other strong women?

WOMEN INSPIRING WOMEN
___________________________________________________________

"Because you are women, people will force
their thinking on you, their boundaries on you.
They will tell you how to dress, how to behave,
who you can meet and where you can go.
Don't live in the shadows of people's judgement.
Make your own choices in the light of your own wisdom."
- Amitabh Bachchan

"Women are the largest untapped
reservoir of talent in the world."

"If women ran the world we wouldn't have wars,
just intense negotiations every 28 days."
- Robin Williams

"Any time women come together with a collective
intention, it's a powerful thing. Whether it's
sitting down making a quilt, in a kitchen preparing
a meal, in a club reading the same book, or
around the table playing cards, or planning a
birthday party, when women come together with a
collective intention, magic happens."
- Phylicia Rashad

"Women and cats will do as they please,
and men and dogs should relax and
get used to the idea."
- Robert A. Heinlein

"Prejudice in sinful. All blood flows red. And the
most harmful and foolish kind of prejudice is
prejudice against yourself. Every woman is
your sister, and every woman needs her sisters.
So try to give other women the courtesy of
your compassion, respect, and forgiveness.
Love yourself despite - and because of - your flaws."
- Jewell Parker Rhodes

something others are determined not be done."

5 THINGS TO REMEMBER
___________________________________________________________

1. Own your style
____________________________

Wear what you love and love what you wear. Don't wear something just because everyone else is or because you're afraid to stand out. Style is defined by you. Not a magazine or a Instagram model or the popular girls at school. You. If you want to dye your hair blue - do it. If you want to cover yourself in tattoos - do it. There's no right or wrong when it comes to your style and body. Because it's exactly that - yours.

2. Do what you love
____________________________

Are you killing yourself for a job that would replace you within a week if you dropped dead? Stop.
What do you love? What are you passionate about? Do that. Ignore the people that tell you that it's not practical. They're the people that played life safe instead of taking a risk and going after what they really wanted. Doing something you hate to pay bills every day until you die - is that really what you want your life to be? You don't get a do-over. Better an oops than a what if.

3. Don't let yourself be silenced
____________________________

Sometimes people think that because you're a woman, your opinion doesn't matter. Bullshit. Your opinion matters just as much as the next persons. Don't be made to feel like you shouldn't speak your mind because you're a woman or because you have the unpopular opinion. Never let anyone silence you. Yes you're a woman, but you're a woman who's got shit to say and that's exactly what you're going to do.

But I'd just like to mention that it's just as important that you don't try to silence someone else's opinion. Never expect people to believe in all of the same things that you do.

4. Support other women
____________________________

I'm not saying you have to like every woman just because they're a woman. But there's enough racists, sexists and homophobic's out there inflicting misery - you don't need to add to it. I don't know about you but I'm tired of seeing body shaming comments. How can we, as women, expect equality and respect when we can't even give it to each other? Support women always. There's a huge difference between standing up for what you believe in and just out-right insulting someone when they don't deserve to be insulted. So if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. We need to act as one instead of being divided by comment sections.

5. Be You
____________________________

Would you want to be in a relationship with someone who isn't being their true selves? Well the longest relationship you'll ever have is the one with yourself, so be true, be you, for you. Always.
