Life, Love and Health is F*cking Important

If I had to describe my current feelings and emotions in two words, it'd be fucked up. I can't get my thoughts straight, I'm in a constant state of anxiety, I can't remember the last time I had a good night sleep, I'm throwing up pretty much everyday, and my family are trying their hardest to get through each day without breaking down. But despite all of that I still feel lucky and blessed. Despite all of the negativity, pain, stress and upset, I am choosing to focus on the positive, the love and the hope.

Lately I have been practicing how to open my mind in order to recognise and accept moments that bring inspiration, clarity and peace. Those moments could be as simple as a child's laughter, an elderly couple holding hands, a song or a performance, it could even be a bird flying in the sky. Special moments, big and small alike, are what help us through the difficult times.

Sometimes I'm terrified to even step outside the house. Sometimes I feel like a failure. Sometimes I think the world would be better without me. Sometimes I get so low that I start to lose myself. As hard as those "sometimes" are, they're all temporary. I can't begin to describe how lighter I feel to know that.

I don't understand much about the world and life, how or why we're here, and I certainly don't have a clue what it all means. But I do know that a moment of happiness is so incredible that it's worth 100 bad days. I know that love is the closest thing we have to magic, which means it should be protected, honoured and celebrated every second of every day. Those two beautiful gifts are worth every ounce of pain, suffering and uncertainty that we face.

There are three things that I want you to care about and cherish: your life, love, and your health. Those three things are all connected in a cycle. To live your life you need to love with every fibre of your being, and you need to remain healthy and centered. To love, you must first open your heart to what life can offer you and you can only truly do that when your mind is healthy and free. To care about your health is to want to prolong your special life and continue to love and be loved.

Your life matters. Your ability to love matters. Your health and well-being matters. But you don't need somebody to tell you that you matter, you matter simply because you exist. So go and open your mind and find those magical moments, because for an unknown reason we get to walk around on a beautiful planet, we get to feel the grass between our toes, the sun on our faces, and the wind through our hair - don't question it, just enjoy it whilst your body and mind allows you to.

"Life is 10% what happens to you
and 90% how you react to it."
- Charles R. Swindoll

Love, Han
