Bloggers Uncensored: with Messy Mama

Welcome to this weeks Bloggers Uncensored! This is my latest and favourite blog series that I've created. This series is an opportunity to read your favourite bloggers' honest and uncensored opinions on real life topics. This weeks blogger is Messy Mama.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a new mama to a beautiful and spunky 6 month old little girl. I have an amazing husband and we live with our adorable puppy and Kid-Kats. I am a stay at home mom and I am exploring a career in writing. I am currently writing my first book which I hope to finish by next year.

Why do you write?

I write because it is the best way I can express myself. I truly enjoy turning my thoughts into words.

Why did you start blogging?

I would love to turn my passion into a career. I am also hoping to use blogging as a way to practice my writing technique for my book.

What do you love about the blogging world/community?

I love how helpful and supportive the blogging community is. No matter what your niche is, bloggers love to help other bloggers. I love that and I love the community I have been building and all the wonderful people I have discovered in my blogging journey.

What do you hate about the blogging world/community?

My biggest anxiety about blogging is whether or not I will become successful. It is definitely a process that takes a lot of determination and hard work. I am learning that success does not happen over night and I am learning to be patient with my growing process.

In your opinion, who are the most underrated bloggers?

As a brand new blogger, I am still learning a lot about the blogging world, so I am afraid I do not know the answer to this question.

What are some hard truths you have learnt about life?

Life is not easy, and sometimes bad things happen to good people. Don't allow your negative experiences keep you from being a good person.

What does freedom mean to you?

Freedom is self awareness. We can not truly be free if we do not understand ourselves. If we refuse to be open and about out own indiscretions, we will be in a constant battle of entitlement.

What are your thoughts on mental health and how it's portrayed in today's society?

Mental health is just as important as physical health and society should stop portraying it otherwise.

What are your thoughts on feminism and how it's portrayed in today's society?

I feel it is all about opposing sides in society. People are either too feminist or not feminist enough. The actual definition of feminism is equal rights for women. Being a feminist doesn't mean women hate men, or that we deserve more. We just want to be equal.

What are your thoughts on 'Love is Love' and how it's portrayed in today's society?

Love is love and we should stop debating about it.

What advice would you give to someone who is fighting a mental illness?

Your mental health is important. Do not allow anyone else to tell you otherwise and do not allow someone else to dictate what they thing it is that you are going through. Do not be afraid to get help. You are not weak and it's not all in your head.

What advice would you give to someone who is being bullied or harassed?

How a person treats you says way more about them than it does about you. They're reflecting their insecurities on to you and it has nothing to do with you. Don't take it personal and don't stoop to their level. If they are threatening you or making uncomfortable, please notify someone.

If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?

Ignorance.

What else do you feel strongly about?

The decisions you make in your life, make you. That is a quote I have lived by my entire life and I truly believe it. No matter what your past looks like, you own your own future. No matter who your parents are, no matter who hurt you or betrayed you. You want something, it is up to you to get it.

Let's end this with some fun 'This or That' questions:

Love or money?

Definitely love.

Work hard or play hard?

Work hard to play hard.

Cups in the cupboard: right side up or upside down?

Naturally right side up.

Chocolate or sex?

How about chocolate with sex?

Plan everything or wing it?

It all depends on my mood and who is with me.

Happiness or money?

Happiness.
