My Favourite Christmas Childhood Memory

As a child my Christmas Eve tradition was a bit different to how it is now, and I loved it so much. We would all go to my grandparent's house for a festive night of party food and drinks. We had such a great time every year, but I was always looking forward to going home the most. Not because Santa was delivering presents that night, but because my auntie Sue always stayed at our house on Christmas Eve. It was probably my favourite tradition of all. My auntie was a breath of fresh air at Christmas; she was just as excited as me. It's a time that I will always hold very dearly to my heart.

That, however, is not my favourite Christmas childhood memory. It was actually the walk home from my Nan and Grandad's on Christmas Eve. Every single year I would hear bells on that walk home, and that meant that Santa was on his way!

Several years ago I decided to ask my mum about it, and she believed that it was Sue who has those bells. So, of course I asked my auntie about it and she believed that it was my mum who has those bells. I don't think either of them will ever tell me who it was, and I wouldn't have it any other way; because I have always, and would like to always, believe in Christmas magic.

"The bell still rings for me, as it does

for all who truly believe."
