30 Things Before I Turn 30

Lately I've been feeling pretty conflicted in life, and I lost sight of what I wanted and what was important. The reality of not having much money really started to take it's toll on my mental health and drained all desire I had to be productive. After having a couple breakdowns, receiving advice and kind words from the blogging community, and having a chat with James, I decided to take a little break to gather my thoughts and think about what I really want.

I considered the possibility of going back to working in a shitty job, but the uncertainty of my health causes a bit of a problem there. Honesty though, even if I could, I don't want to; because why would I voluntarily dedicate my life to something that damages my health, my mind and my happiness? So this left me back at square one - unemployed, broke and dreaming of being a successful blogger. Being able to run my blog for a living is something I have wanted for years and I've learnt that it's fucking hard work. At some point, I started to believe that I just wasn't good enough to make it, that I was wasting my time. I came to realise though that putting my happiness first and chasing my dreams, no matter how long it takes, is never a waste of time.

When I asked myself what I wanted, there was only one answer - I want to be happy. I'm simply going to follow my heart, and do what makes me happy. Whilst I was taking a break to get some clarity, I decided to write a list of everything I want to do before I turn 30 and I ended up finding it really therapeutic. It was a pretty long list, but I decided that I'd narrow it down to 30 things so that I could share it with you all.

Learn to play the guitar

...I've been saying this for so long!

Go on a road trip

◽ Skydive

◽ Have a thriving business

...by thriving, I don't mean raking in a million a year, I simply want to live comfortably and be happy with my level of success.

◽ Go camping

...I haven't been camping since I was a kid and I miss it so much.

◽ Make a house a home with James

...this is one I'm pretty excited about achieving - having our own home, buying James a little kitten and adopting a dog.

◽ Publish an ebook

◽ Go zip-lining

◽ Go to a drive-in cinema

◽ Do an escape room game

◽ Visit Dublin, Ireland

◽ Write a children's Christmas book

...I started writing one last Christmas but for some reason I didn't finish it.

◽ Submit an article to a magazine

◽ Carve a pumpkin

...can you believe I've never carved a pumpkin?

◽ Pay off all the money I owe

◽ Print photo's and create a scrapbook album

...I'm such sentimental person, and I've been wanting to create a scrapbook for a long time now.

◽ Have a weekend getaway at a cabin/lodge

...with no internet!

◽ Take part in more charity fundraisers

...I've took part in a couple in the past but I'd love to do more. I'll most likely turn skydiving and bungee jumping into a way for me to raise money for the causes that are closest to my heart.

◽ Watch the sunrise and set

...preferably with a cute picnic.

◽ Start a YouTube channel

...I've wanted to do this for a really long time but I've never had the confidence to do it. I'll be incredibly proud of myself if I manage to achieve this one.

◽ See the Northern Lights

◽ Continue writing my movie script

...when I was severely depressed in 2017, I began writing a movie script and it was something that greatly helped in the road to getting better. I'd love to finish that as a way to close that door.

◽ Visit Santorini, Greece

◽ Ride in a helicopter

◽ Bungee Jump

◽ Actually do my dream photography project

...since playing around with photography last year, I've had a vision for a project that I would love to see through.

◽ Sell what I don't need

◽ Run an international giveaway

◽ Have a penpal

◽ Spend as much time with the people I love as I can

I have just over 8 years until I turn 30, which is crazy, but it's plenty of time to do the things that will set my soul on fire.

What do you want to achieve before you turn 30?

With love, Han
